Antique Ivory Silk Tape Lace Blouse
Very rare antique silk satin tape lace blouse. The previous owners/caretakers of this garment postulate that it was brought out to Australia from England by ship in the early 1900s. This heirloom piece is truly a labour of love; pieced together entirely by hand using ribbon and crochet to create lace, constructed into a blouse with openwork seams. Interwoven panels of ribbon form squares and helixes, with tightly coiled spirals threaded between. Three statement spiral buttons on front with press studs underneath.
Style as a layering piece or on its own, over palazzo pants, jeans, or a slip dress.
Waist: up to 34"
Recommended fit: XS/S
Excellent vintage, ready to wear condition. Bottom set of press studs has been replaced.
Please refer to our size guide and conversion chart below to determine the perfect fit. We recommend allowing 1” wiggle room in garments from 1930s and earlier, based on closure styles.

As vintage sizing usually varies from item to item, actual measurements can be the most accurate way to determine sizing & fit. We hand measure all our garments. Measurements are taken in inches, with the garment laying flat and then doubled where appropriate for correct sizing (i.e. for waist & bust).
For best fit, we recommend checking measurements of your best fitting garment or your own body. Please get in touch if you have any enquiries regarding measurements or fit.
